From a process inspired by mussels, the researchers of the PECMAT team have developed a glucose biosensor using tannic acid, a natural and abundant molecule, gold nanoparticles and glucose oxidase, an enzyme recognizing glucose. The process used allowed to obtain a micro-sensor (on microelectrodes) able to differentiate a patient in hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia. The article was published in Materials Advances in open access.
